TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION

BACK TO TOP

Core: 45lb. density particle board.


Concealed Surfaces: Thermally Fused Melamine on 45lb. density particleboard core in a variety of colors. (Refer to the drop down menu on the quote page for available options)


Exposed Surfaces: Thermally Fused Melamine on 45lb. desnity particaleboard core in a variety of colors.


Joinery: 8mm dowel construction.


Backs: 3/4" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine dowelled between sides and screwed at top and bottom.


Sides: 3/4" thick Thermally Fused Melamine


Cabinet edges: .018 PVC


Door Edges: 3mm PVC


Shelf Edges: .018" PVC on 1 long edge.


Shelves: 3/4" Thick Thermally Fused Melamine.


Door and Drawer Front: No door/drawer front option is available for those who prefer to use their own, in which case hinges are not included.

Grain Direction: Vertical grain orientation for all backs, sides, door and drawer fronts (End matching grain for door and drawer fronts).


Drawer Boxes: 5 piece, dowel construction drawer boxes are 3/4" Melamine.

Tolerances:

  • Gaps: doors, drawer fronts and panels shall not exceed 1/8" (3.2mm) or +/- 1/16" (1.6mm).
  • Alignment: adjacent doors and drawer fronts in the normal closed position shall not exceed 1/32" (.8mm).
  • Flushness: adjacent doors and drawer fronts shall not exceed 1/16" (1.6mm).
  • Flushness: between exposed factory assembled joints shall not vary more than .010"(.25mm)
  • Flatness: of doors and drawer fronts measured diagonally shall not exceed 1/32" / foot of length.
  • Edge Quality: shall be machined flush with all sharp corners removed. A maximum visible overlap shall be acceptable of no more than .005 (.13mm) for a length of no more than 1" (25.4mm) in any 24" run (610mm).Chip out of the laminate shall be invisible when viewed from 48".
